Now, to end our Twitter Nonprofit Giveaway, we are giving away a one-time, $1,000 gift on Friday, July 31! On July 31, we’ll hold a random drawing for $1,000 from the five organizations receiving the most unique tweets, meaning tweets from individual accounts, since July 10. It’s simple to participate. Here’s how:

  1. Follow CFMT on Twitter at http://twitter.com/CFMT. We want to follow you back, so if your updates are protected, please approve our follow request.

  2. A nonprofit must be profiled in GivingMatters.com to qualify. Submit a nonprofit by tweeting this sentence:
Help (insert your favorite GivingMatters.com profiled nonprofit/program here) win $100 from @CFMT by RT this! Learn more: http://tinyurl.com/r6usaj #cfmt #nonprofitgiveaway

*Tweets eligible for selection in the weekly giveaway must be directed to @CFMT. The deadline for submissions is Friday at 10:00 a.m. Submissions posted on Twitter after 10:00 a.m. are not eligible for that day's drawing but will be included in the following week's drawing. Please include the tags #cfmt AND #nonprofitgiveaway to help us track entries.

  3. The more tweets for your nonprofit, the better the chance of its selection. Each time a nonprofit or nonprofit program is submitted by unique Twitter users, its name will be put into the drawing, which happens on Fridays. Ask your friends and followers to retweet your post!

  4. Read the two rules below to determine what qualifies a nonprofit to win the CFMT giveaway.

What if I don’t have a Twitter account?
It’s easy to sign up: https://twitter.com/signup. To learn more, watch an instructional video at http://twitter.com/, or visit http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twitter. Once you have a Twitter account, follow the 4 steps above to submit a nonprofit or a specific nonprofit program each week.

What’s this about?
One of The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee’s (CFMT) fundamental roles is to serve the nonprofit community, providing support for their vital services and programs. There are more than a thousand nonprofits in Middle Tennessee addressing needs and helping our community thrive through a variety of quality programs. CFMT works to help our nonprofit partners make an impact through our strategic grantmaking and our work to build and hold a growing endowment for the community’s needs, now and always. Learn more about The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee (CFMT).

How will this work?
For 10 weeks, The CFMT $1K Nonprofit Giveaway will give $100 a week to a Middle Tennessee nonprofit submitted by CFMT’s followers on Twitter. Follow us now. The nonprofit you submit must be profiled in GivingMatters.com. A nonprofit does not have to have a Twitter account for the organization; it’s up to CFMT’s Twitter followers to submit the nonprofit’s name, and get others to submit it too.

Each time a unique Twitter user submits a nonprofit, the name of the nonprofit will be entered into a random drawing for the week. The more times a nonprofit name is in the drawing, the better its chances of winning.

The deadline for submissions is Friday at 10:00 a.m. Submissions posted on Twitter after 10:00 a.m. are not eligible for that day's drawing but will be included in the following week's drawing. The nonprofit winner will be announced on Friday afternoon.

Rules:

  1. Nonprofit organizations submitted must be profiled in GivingMatters.com and a qualified 501(c)3 serving the 40 counties of Middle Tennessee, which is CFMT’s service area. Colleges and universities, religious institutions, and private schools are not eligible for the giveaway. (What are the 40 counties of Middle Tennessee?)

  2. One nonprofit organization or its specific programs can win the weekly giveaway a maximum of two times. If a nonprofit or its programs are selected twice during the 10-week giveaway period, they are no longer eligible for the $100 giveaway.
