History: The LaHaunn Moore Hope Scholarship Fund has been established in honor of Chief Moore, an alumnus of Pearl-Cohn High School and Nashville Public Schools. Chief Moore graduated with Honors while participating in sports and community service. After graduation, Chief Moore served a distinguished 20-year career in the US Navy. He earned Bachelor’s and multiple Master’s degrees (Occupational Safety, Theology, and Business/Leadership), taking advantage of the programs offered by the military. After retiring from service, he was a business entrepreneur and continued to serve through church and other community organizations. Chief Moore passed away at the age of 42 due to health issues. The LaHaunn Moore Hope Scholarship Fund seeks to honor Chief Moore’s values of service and leadership and to inspire students as they achieve goals of higher education and community service.
