Mary’s Hug was founded in 2024 in loving memory of Mary Hug Williams by her family Tom (husband), Sally (daughter) and Brad (son-in-law). Just like Mary did, the fund will focus on people and creatures that need a little extra help…the underdogs if you will.

As a teacher, Mary taught special education students in grade schools as well as incarcerated men at the Missouri State Penitentiary. As a counselor, she helped people who were unemployed, often for reasons outside of their control, prepare for and obtain life-changing employment. Through it all, Mary took every opportunity to love on animals of all sizes and shapes, including caring for rescues and strays. In honor of Mary, her family will continue to offer support in areas that follow in her footsteps.

May the blessing of Mary’s Hug shine on for generations to come, just as she would have wanted it.
