NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee (CFMT) is excited to announce the addition of five distinguished leaders to its Board of Directors, representing a wide range of expertise and dedication to the community. Joining the board as part of the Class of 2027 are Victor Berrios, Charles Robert Bone, Shanna Jackson, Janet Miller, and Virginia Tenpenny.
“CFMT is fortunate to have a Board comprised of our community’s best leaders,” says CFMT’s CEO Hal Cato. “As we continue to grow and dig deeper into some of our most pressing challenges, their voices and leadership are more important than ever.”
The addition of these new board members marks a significant moment for CFMT as the 33-year-old foundation continues to expand its efforts to meet the needs of a rapidly growing and evolving community. These leaders bring diverse expertise and fresh perspectives that will help guide CFMT’s work, from driving innovation in philanthropy to addressing systemic challenges that impact Middle Tennessee’s most vulnerable populations. Their leadership reflects CFMT’s commitment to collaboration and mission to create lasting, meaningful change.

Victor Berrios
A U.S. Army veteran and successful entrepreneur, Victor Berrios is the President and Owner of Titan Franchising LLC and multiple franchise enterprises. Berrios exemplifies business leadership with a portfolio of 420 franchise owners generating over $58 million annually. His commitment to service and entrepreneurial spirit will be instrumental in guiding CFMT’s efforts to support the region’s nonprofit and philanthropic community.
Dr. Shanna Jackson
As President of Nashville State Community College, Dr. Shanna Jackson brings a lifelong commitment to learning and inclusivity. Her leadership has improved student outcomes and strengthened the institution’s ties to the community. Dr. Jackson’s focus on education and equity mirrors CFMT’s dedication to creating pathways for growth and tackling barriers in the region.
Virginia Tenpenny
An expert in social impact and innovation, Virginia Tenpenny is the founder of Tenpenny Impact and the former Chief Global Social Impact Officer at Starbucks. In 2024, she joined NationSwell to serve as the Chief Social Impact Officer where she leads the community of changemakers across companies, foundations, nonprofits and thought leaders to propel their collective power for the highest impact across organizations and communities. Tenpenny’s innovative perspective will help CFMT explore new ways to address the evolving needs of the community.
Charles Robert Bone
As Managing Director of Real Estate Investment for Southwest Value Partners, Charles Robert Bone oversees transformative projects across the Southeastern United States. A graduate of Vanderbilt Law School, Bone’s civic engagement includes serving on the boards of ServisFirst Bank and the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency. His strategic leadership and experience in economic development align perfectly with CFMT’s mission to drive impactful community initiatives.
Janet Miller
As CEO and Market Leader of Colliers International Nashville, Janet Miller leads Nashville’s largest commercial real estate brokerage. Her extensive career spans decades of economic development and civic leadership, including key roles with the Nashville Chamber of Commerce, Metropolitan Transit Authority, and Studio Bank. Miller’s visionary approach and experience in regional development will be pivotal in advancing CFMT’s initiatives to strengthen Middle Tennessee communities.
