This scholarship fund is a part of the CFMT General Scholarship Application that is open annually from December 1st to February 1st.name.

Criteria: This will be a renewable scholarship fund for graduates of Gordonsville High School in Gordonsville, Tennessee. Eligible students must attend Tennessee Technological University, and a preference will be given to students studying agriculture or education. It is the intent that at least two graduating high school seniors from Gordonsville High School are selected each year as recipients of scholarships from the Fund and that renewed scholarships will be made to past recipients of scholarships from the Fund, if they continue to be eligible.

History: Eddie Dale Smith was born October 12, 1931 in Hickman, TN, he son of Lela Belle Smith and Marshall A. Smith. He was a 1949 graduate of Gordonsville High School, and later graduated from Tennessee Tech, then known as Tennessee Polytechnic Institute. He served his country in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He worked for the United States Government in Soil Conservation until his retirement. HE was a long time member of First Baptist Church Gordonsville. His desire was to be instrumental in helping graduates of Gordonsville High School who are attending
